Olaf Kühl

Olaf Kühl is a translator of Polish, Russian, Serbo-Croatian and Ukranian into German. He translated authors such as Witold Gombrowicz, Olga Tokarczuk, Andrzej Stasiuk, Jurij Andruchowytsch and Arkadi Babtschenko.  His translations of Dorota Maslowska's work has been critically acclaimed as "congenial".  Since 1996 he has been the special advisor for Russia to the Mayor of Berlin.  In addition, he is a freelance translator and publicist, gives lectures and readings and leads literary translator workshops.  In 2005, he was awarded the Karl-Dedecius-Prize and the German Youth Literature Prize.
