Roman Olekšák
Roman Olekšák is one of the most distinguished translators of new German plays into Slovakian. His translations of Marius von Mayenburg’s plays have been produced several times and published with the Theater Institute Bratislava. Additionally, Olekšák translated Peter Bichel’s SAN SALVADOR, Peter Turrini’s ENDLICH SCHLUSS, Urs Widmer’s TOP DOGS, Rimini Protokoll’s work, and among others. Olekšák is also a much produced playwright, an author of short stories, radio plays, and TV-series. He is a renowned director and dramaturg for theater and TV.

Marius von Mayenburg was born in 1972 in Munich and studied old German literature. Since coming to Berlin in 1992, he studied dramatic writing at the University of Arts and was awarded the “Kleist-Förderpreis für Junge Dramatik 1997” and the “Preis der Frankfurter Autorenstiftung 1998” for FIREFACE. After being the assistant dramaturg at the Baracke of the Deutsches Theater, Marius began working as a dramaturg and playwright in residence at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin (since Thomas Ostermeier became artistic director in 1999).

Christine Richter-Nilsson was born in Stuttgart and studied rhetoric and empirical cultural studies at the University Tübingen, Stanford University in California and in Uppsala, Sweden. She is a dramaturg at the theater Bielefeld, where she organized the festival VOICES FROM UNDERGROUNDZERO – new plays from New York City in October 2008. The anthology of the same name was published by Theater der Zeit. Since 2005, Christine works also as assistant professor for dramaturgy at the University in Bremen.
